Northwood Tennis Club held its finals weekend on Saturdy 9th and Sunday 10th September.
Junior competitions were held for a number of different age groups and took place in windy and slightly damp conditions on Sunday but nevertheless a high standard of tennis was achieved.

Results for the various levels were:
9 and under - Winner Tasir Shariff - Runner up Shreeyansh Saskas
12 and under - Winner Alex Andelkovic - Runner up Serena McCarthy
16 and under Girls - Winner Hannah Ghosh - Runner up Anisha Shah
16 and under Boys - Winner Tom Herdman - Runner up Teddy Mangan

The adult finals were played the day before in slightly calmer conditions.


The ladies singles was won by Alita Davern and the runner up was last year’s winner Tracy Lederer. The men’s singles winner was Duncan Chorley who was runner up last year and the runner up this year was a teenage star Lazar Andelkovic.
In the ladies doubles Alita Davern and Angela Ghosh retained their title beating Cathy Pilborough and Tracy Lederer and in the men’s doubles Fergal Davern and John Ghosh also retained their title beating Lazar Andelkovic and Peter Wrigglesworth.
The mixed doubles final was a repeat of last year’s final. The winners were Alita Davern and Duncan Chorley and the runners up Tracy Lederer and Fergal Davern. The mixed veterans’ competition was won by Sue Jones and John O’Dwyer who beat Alison Cameron and David George.


The prize giving held in the evening was rounded off with a BBQ attended by over 50 members.
