WEDNESDAY 16 OCTOBER  2019 ‘Mad Men and Artists - How the Advertising Industry exploited Fine Art’ by Tony Rawlins
Tony Rawlins’ fine art has provided advertisers with much material for their creative campaigns. Tony describes some of the processes by which these advertisements have been created and why the works of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Michelangelo have been a particularly rich source. From the Renaissance through to the present day fine art continues to provide opportunities to enhance brand imagery with admiration, humour, satire and irony.

WEDNESDAY 20 NOVEMBER 2019 ‘Coventry Cathedral – Icon and Inspiration’ by Alexandra Epp
The extraordinary story of the rebuilding of the Cathedral as a symbol of peace and reconciliation and its inspiring commitment to the modern.  Experience the work of many of the world-class artists associated with its treasures including Epstein, Frink, Piper and Sutherland.

Venue: Winston Churchill Theatre, Ruislip, HA4 7QL at 10:50am; complimentary coffee/tea available from 10:15am; Free car parking available
Cost: donation on the door of £8.00 each is invited; Society also organises Evening Lectures and Days of Special Interest at Moor Park Mansion
