The Northwood Ward panel meets quarterly with the local Police to discuss short, medium and long term strategy and discuss matters relating to local policing. This committee is itself a wider grouping with members drawn from organisations in Northwood. The committee is a two way channel between the police and the community where both parties can raise matters of local concern.

The committee is always on the lookout for new members as we genuinely want to be responsive to public interest.

From Inspector Rob Bryan:

A new distraction crime has been reported to us. Two women are pulling alongside elderly drivers and saying there is damage to the side of their car. The elderly person pulls over, gets out to take a look and is joined by the passenger, whilst the other woman walks around the car and steals handbags etc from the passenger seat. This has occurred near cemeteries, old peoples homes and shopping centres. Please pass this on to your friends and neighbours. If this happens to you, do not stop and drive home or to a safe place before checking the car as in all likelihood you are being scammed.

North Hillingdon sees motor vehicle crime cut by over fifty percent as a result of community engagement.

Officers from North Hillingdon's Safer Neighbourhoods Teams were so concerned about the number of motor vehicle crimes being reported to police that they decided to work with the local community to deal with the problem.

Inspector Rob Bryan has recently taken up the post of cluster inspector for the north of the borough.  He is keen to communicate with all who live or work on his patch and is sending out a monthly circular by email.  If you would like to be included on his circualtion list, please send him an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. Dear residents,

My name is Jonathan Shard and I am the most recent addition to Inspector Rob Bryan's team here in the north of the borough. As well as my responsibilities as a ward Sergeant I have been asked to take a look at the Crime Prevention strategy for all our neighbourhoods.

Please see below Fraud prevention advice sent to Hillingdon police by the The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau.

The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) has received the first reports from victims of a new type of email containing an attachment which will, once opened, download malware onto the victim's computer.
We are raising awareness of this type of email in order to help people to stop themselves from becoming victims.
